On April 6, 2005, Stage Stores, Inc. (the "Company") issued a news release announcing the Company's participation on April 12, 2005 at the SunTrust Robinson Humphrey 34th Annual Institutional Investor Conference and on April 26, 2005 at the Lehman Brothers Eighth Annual Retail Seminar.  A copy of the news release is attached to this Form 8-K as Exhibit 99.1.
