Quarter Earnings Release Date and Conference Call Information



On March
7, 2007, Stage Stores, Inc. (the "Company") issued a New Release announcing that
it will release its fourth quarter 2006 financial results at 6:00 a.m. Eastern
Time on Wednesday, March 14, 2007. The release of the Company's fourth quarter
financial results will be followed by a conference call, which will be held at
8:30 a.m. Eastern Time on the same day. A copy of the News Release is attached
to this Form 8-K as Exhibit 99.1.
