On August 21, 2008, Stage Stores, Inc. (the "Company") issued a News Release announcing its financial results for the second quarter ended August 2, 2008.  Additionally, the Company provided third quarter, fourth quarter and updated full year projections.  A copy of the News Release is attached to this Form 8-K as Exhibit 99.
