Item 7.01.  Regulation FD Disclosure.

On August 2, 2011, United Rentals, Inc. (the “Company”) issued a press release announcing that it will participate in the Jefferies 2011 Global Industrial and A&D Conference on Thursday, August 11, 2011. At the conference, Michael Kneeland, chief executive officer of the Company, and William Plummer, chief financial officer, will present information regarding the Company, which may include a discussion of the Company’s business, financial performance and forward-looking information. The presentation is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m., Eastern Time.
