Aeros Loop Studio Firmware 4.0.0 Boasts Massive Memory Boost

The already popular recording package is now bigger and better than ever, pushing the boundaries for users worldwide

August 23, 2021 / /

An eye-catching update released August 12th from Singular Sound brought up to 10 hours of mono recording time to the Aeros Loop Studio. The popular looper pedal was initially brought to market with 3 hours of mono recording, but through consistent developmental pushes and feedback application, Singular Sound’s team has arrived at a solution to greatly increase memory: Dynamic Read.

“The Aeros Loop Studio was built to give musicians more creative freedom than they’d ever had,” said Singular Sound CEO David Packouz. “When our engineers informed us it might be possible to increase recording length without hardware changes we jumped on the opportunity.” Where saved audio files had previously been loaded to the RAM in their entirety, Dynamic Read allows them to be loaded in sections and continuously. This represents a dramatic boost in space for the device, granting users up to 20 minutes per track of mono recording with memory to spare after saving the song. The achievement cements Singular Sound’s looper as one of the best on the market.

In addition to the Aeros’ massive 36 track availability, the loop pedal has gathered acclaim for its continual free updates for users. Firmware 4.0.0 is the next iteration of that, marking a longstanding milestone on the development calendar and a new standard in looper pedals. “This is a big goal reached for us,” said Packouz.

Firmware update 4.0.0 will also include a revamped logging system for diagnosing and responding to error messages. The new system can be activated by the Aeros’ user, and provides the device with valuable, trackable information for faster solutions. Two MIDI commands have been added, for one-press song deletion [CC42 Value 0] and committing the current recording or overdub [CC41 Value 20]. Full-scale MIDI implementation remains the top priority on the development schedule, with the first release already in testing.

The update will work seamlessly with existing features, amplifying users ability to work with the unlimited overdubs, on-board mixing and flexible functionality of the Aeros Loop Studio. All functions, including update installations, will remain accessible through the LED touch-screen display, scroll wheel and soft-click footswitches.
