On Tuesday, December 18, 2007, Hecla announced it completed its previously announced underwritten public offering of 2,012,500 shares of its 6.5% Mandatory Convertible Preferred Stock (“Preferred Stock”), which includes the underwriters’ exercise of its over-allotment option for 262,500 shares of Preferred Stock. A copy of the press release making the announcement is filed herewith as Exhibit 99.1 and incorporated into this Item 8.01 by reference.
