Vidyard’s 2021 Community Social Impact Program Focuses on STEM Education and Essential Support

99% of Vidyard employees volunteered their time, providing skill-based services to nonprofits spanning food banks, hospitals, and children’s services

Vidyard, the leading video platform for businesses, today released the results of its 2021 Community Social Impact Program, showcasing the company’s ongoing commitment to giving back. In 2021, Vidyard’s program focused on two pillars: equity in STEM education and essential community support. These pillars bring programming to underserved communities and advocate for better community access to food, shelter, and healthcare.

“While 2021’s efforts were still largely virtual, we’re proud of how our employees donated more of their time than ever,” said Laura Galbraith, director of community at Vidyard. “We’re fully committed to supporting the communities we live in and are grateful for the relationships we’re developing and for the opportunity to help expand access to vital initiatives like Girls in STEM.”

In addition to year-long volunteering efforts and providing employees with two paid days off for giving back, Vidyard held Give Back Days over the last two weeks of November. This year’s focus was on providing skill-based volunteering, product donations, monetary donations, and specialized training to the community. With 99% of employees participating in Give Back Days, the company prides itself on its community-first mentality and commitment to giving back, whether in-person or virtually.

In 2021, Vidyard also launched a number of new sustainability initiatives including partnering with the non-profit organization One Tree Planted on its tree reforestation projects around the world. Vidyard planted over 3,400 trees this year in three different continents to reflect its growing global team and help offset its total carbon footprint.

Throughout 2021, Vidyard:

  • Contributed more than 2,500 hours of volunteer services to support 17 charities and 65 different projects
  • Provided $25,000 worth of complimentary Vidyard product training to non-profit organizations
  • Donated over $100,000 in product donations
  • Planted 3,400 trees to help offset employees’ carbon footprints
  • Received the Buhr Legacy Award for significant contributions to the community from House of Friendship

Vidyard is deeply committed to the communities it serves, ensuring it creates communities where everyone thrives and belongs. Some of the organizations whose employees donated time to include Anishnabeg Outreach, ArtShine4All, Food Bank of Waterloo Region, Grand River Hospital, Monica Place, SickKids Hospital, United Way, and Women Crisis Services.
