EyeCare Partners Ophthalmologists to Present New Data at the 2022 American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) Meeting

EyeCare Partners (ECP), the nation’s leading provider of clinically integrated eye care, today announced that its physicians will deliver nine scientific research presentations and more than 40 instruction courses, skills transfer sessions and symposia at the upcoming American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) Meeting September 30 - October 3 in Chicago.

ECP’s representation at this year’s Academy is its strongest to date, reflecting the breadth and depth of expertise across the ECP network of practices and the shared focus on enhancing vision, advancing eye care and improving lives.

“It is humbling to see physicians from so many ECP practices contributing knowledge on a wide range of eye care topics – from the front to the back of the eye,” said Daniel Miller, M.D., Ph.D., Chair of ECP’s Medical Executive Board and a retina specialist at Cincinnati Eye Institute. “The data from these AAO presentations will result in more meaningful solutions for patients living with a myriad of eye care needs. I look forward to seeing how we utilize the findings to better serve our patients and instruct the next generation of eye care physicians.”

Featured presentations at AAO include topics currently being researched in some of the over 180 clinical studies being conducted by ECP physicians.

Scientific Presentations Include:

  • “Treatment Outcomes of Micropulse Transscleral Cyclophotocoagulation in African American Adults With Glaucoma” – Scientific Poster co-authored by Constance Okeke, M.D., Virginia Eye Consultants
  • “Safety and Efficacy of CSF-1 in Participants With Presbyopia: The NEAR-2 Phase 3 Randomized Clinical Trial” – E-poster co-authored by Edward Holland, M.D., Cincinnati Eye Institute
  • “Implantation of a Small-Aperture IOL in Low Level Astigmatism Cataractous Eyes” – Scientific Poster presented by Elizabeth Yeu, M.D., Virginia Eye Consultants
  • “Safety and Efficacy of Lotilaner Ophthalmic Solution, 0.25%, in Treating Demodex Blepharitis: Results of the Saturn-2 Trial” – Scientific Poster presented by Elizabeth Yeu, M.D., Virginia Eye Consultants and co-authored by Gregg Berdy, M.D., Ophthalmology Associates
  • “Correlation Between Demodex Mites and Clinical Signs of Demodex Blepharitis” – Scientific Poster co-authored by Gregg Berdy, M.D., Ophthalmology Associates
  • “Eye Movement and Body Position Effects on Optic Nerve Sheath Measurements” – Scientific Poster co-authored by Jessica Duddleston, M.D., Alabama Vision Center
  • “T&E-Based Personalized Treatment Interval Dynamics in the YOSEMITE/RHINE Trials of Faricimab in DME” – Scientific Poster co-authored by John Kitchens, M.D., Retina Associates of Kentucky
  • “Perfluorohexyloctane (NOV03) for DED Associated With MGD: Pooled Analysis of GOBI and MOJAVE Studies” – Scientific Poster presented by John Sheppard, M.D., FACS, Virginia Eye Consultants
  • “Efficacy of Pilocarpine HCl Ophthalmic Solution 1.25% in Emmetropes and Nonemmetropes in the 30-Day GEMINI 1 and GEMINI 2 Studies” – Scientific Poster co-authored by Robert Weinstock, M.D., Eye Institute of West Florida

Publication will be made available after the release of the data presentations.

“ECP’s ophthalmologists are leading educators in their specialties and are committed to research and education to advance the clinical practice of ophthalmology,” said Kari Holloway, Ph.D., ECP’s Ophthalmology Division President. “We very much look forward to attending the upcoming AAO gathering to renew connections and share knowledge with so many of our esteemed colleagues.”

ECP’s commitment to advancing eye care is further underscored by the EyeCare Partners Innovation Center, announced earlier this week. The Innovation Center focuses on three pillars – quality, research and education – and is charged with leveraging data and expertise to improve outcomes, enhance patient care and drive sight-saving advances.
