Session will explore priorities for CXOs and Boards of Directors and offer actionable steps to implementing emerging technologies
The Cloud Security Alliance (CSA), the world’s leading organization dedicated to defining standards, certifications, and best practices to help ensure a secure cloud computing environment, today announced that Google Cloud’s Kevin Mandia, CEO of Mandiant, and Phil Venables, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), will headline the CSA AI Summit, held on May 6 in conjunction with the 2024 RSA Conference.
Over the course of their session, A Fireside Chat with Kevin Mandia and Phil Venables of Google Cloud, the cybersecurity titans will explore priorities for CXOs and Boards of Directors, including how they’re approaching artificial intelligence, security operations, and the cloud, along with programmatic steps attendees can take to use these emerging technologies.

Phil Venables is the CISO of Google Cloud, where he leads the risk, security, compliance, and privacy teams. Before joining Google, he was a Partner at Goldman Sachs where he held multiple roles over a long career, initially as their first CISO, a role he held for 17 years. In subsequent roles, Phil was Chief Operational Risk Officer, an operating partner in their private equity business, and a Board Director of Goldman Sachs Bank. Outside of Google, Phil is a member of the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology, serves on the boards of the NYU School of Engineering, the NYU Volatility and Risk Institute, the NIST ISPAB, and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
Kevin Mandia is the CEO of Mandiant at Google Cloud. Kevin has served as the company’s CEO since 2016, including through its corporate name change from FireEye, Inc. to Mandiant, Inc. in 2021. Kevin has spent more than 25 years in information security helping make organizations secure from cyber threats. Kevin has held senior positions in the security consulting divisions of Sytex, acquired by Lockheed Martin, and Foundstone, acquired by McAfee. In the United States Air Force, Kevin served as a computer security officer at the Pentagon, and later a special agent in the Air Force Office of Special Investigations. He holds a BS in computer science from Lafayette College and an MS in forensic science from The George Washington University.
