Encina Development Group, LLC (Encina), a manufacturer of ISCC Plus circular materials that advance a more sustainable, circular economy, proudly joined Pennsylvania College of Technology leaders and students from around the globe at the Baja SAE Competition in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. The competition challenged students to design and build an off-road vehicle prototype that can endure Mother Nature’s most powerful forces, such as rough terrain, water, and severe weather conditions.
"Encina is proud to support the SAE Baja competition and watch the next generation of innovation and sustainability engineers channel their skills and creativity to tackle a real-world application. It’s these individuals who will help the companies of today and the future realize our shared vision for a more sustainable, circular world. We’re thrilled to be a part of it,” said David Roesser, PhD, Chief Executive Officer for Encina.
The Baja SAE competition provides SAE student members with an engineering project challenge that requires them to design, plan, and manufacture a new product for the consumer industrial market. Students must function as a team to not only design, build, test, promote, and race their off-road vehicle prototypes within the limits of the rules, but also to generate financial support for their project and manage their educational priorities. Encina’s sponsorship includes one-on-one participation with the student teams as well as a role on the competition’s judging panel.
About Encina Development Group
Encina Development Group is an ISCC Plus manufacturer of circular chemicals using an integrated single-stage catalytic conversion process, derived from end-of-life plastics otherwise bound for landfills or incineration. Encina’s technology breaks waste plastics down to the molecular level reducing the amount of fossil feedstocks required to create high-value, industrial-grade circular chemicals. These circular chemicals form the building blocks that global manufacturing customers use to meet their renewable content goals while enabling the use and reuse of plastics in industries such as consumer products, packaging, pharmaceuticals, and construction.
