Thermo Fisher Scientific Opens Its First Electron Microscopy Demo Center in Taiwan

New facility designed to support semiconductor innovation and materials R&D in one of the world’s leading technology hubs

To support next-generation semiconductor and materials innovation, Thermo Fisher Scientific today announced the opening of its first electron microscopy demo center in Taiwan. This state-of-the-art facility, called a NanoPort, is strategically located in the region’s semiconductor manufacturing hub and designed to meet the area’s growing need for advanced analytical instruments and expertise. The new center is now one of six Thermo Fisher NanoPort facilities worldwide and will partner with semiconductor customers in the region.

A grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on July 26 featuring local dignitaries and business leaders as esteemed guest speakers.

Demand for higher-performing semiconductor technology is accelerating as innovations such as generative AI, smarter devices, and renewable energy take hold. Similarly, cutting-edge materials research and development projects are accelerating to meet the demand for new and higher-performing materials in applications across new battery development and clean energy, aerospace, automotive, and healthcare, to name a few.

The new NanoPort will provide customers access to Thermo Fisher electron microscopy experts and Thermo Fisher’s latest technologies for materials analysis, process control and quality assurance. Such accessibility is designed to support fundamental research efforts and offer hands-on experiences to help customers learn new ways to reduce time-to-market and ultimately increase profitability.

“Thermo Fisher’s new NanoPort in Taiwan underscores our continuous commitment to the advancement of science and technology worldwide,” said Sho-Wen Yeo, vice president and general manager, Southeast Asia and Taiwan, Thermo Fisher Scientific. “By bringing Thermo Fisher’s world-class analytical instrumentation and expertise to the semiconductor hotspot that is Taiwan, we aim to serve as the go-to R&D partner in the region and enable our customers to propel the innovations that shape our everyday lives.”

Thermo Fisher’s NanoPorts are located worldwide, offering demonstration, testing, and training of Thermo Fisher’s latest electron microscopy technology for those in semiconductor, materials and life sciences. To learn more, please visit: https://ter.li/6dcr07
