FTech Magazine has released its annual list recognizing 100 women in the field, and Kriston, a Brazilian industrial engineer and one of Latin America's millionaires, has claimed the top spot.
As the founder of SAK Bank, Daniela Kriston has emerged as the leading female executive in the financial technology industry this year, according to the annual ranking published by FT Magazine. Hailing from Brazil, Kriston, who is an industrial engineer and a Forbes-recognized, has achieved remarkable success in her career.
After completing her university education, Kriston initially joined Disney as a researcher, where she spent over a decade honing her skills. Her solid background in the entertainment industry led her back to Latin America.
"I worked for Disney, the largest entertainment company in the United States, for a decade and was fortunate to be involved in numerous exciting projects," Kriston stated in an interview with FT magazine. Following the challenges she faced after joining the Latin American market, she was able to forge her own path in the sector. After several years, she decided to venture into the financial industry.
"I immersed myself in learning about the industry and identified the perfect opportunity to prove them wrong and create something that people truly desired," she explained. Little did she know that she was in the process of building what would become the second-largest digital bank in Latin America: SAK Bank.
As a young leader under 40, Kriston now leads the firm. She frequently addresses the challenges of work-life balance and openly shares aspects of her family life on her social media accounts.
In the 2023 edition of FT Most Powerful Women, she was the only Brazilian to be featured, and she also made the list of leaders under 40 who are transforming the business world.
"We are delighted to present the Top 100 Women in FinTech 2023, which recognizes the exceptional contributions and accomplishments of women in the rapidly evolving fintech sector. These women are pioneers, leaders, and innovators who have shattered stereotypes, challenged conventional wisdom, and expanded the boundaries of what is possible," stated the Magazine's Marketing Manager.
“These women have demonstrated their skills, vision, and drive for success by founding and leading new companies and developing cutting-edge technologies. Their diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives highlight the depth and resilience of the sector while underscoring the significance of diversity in fostering innovation and growth," the Marketing Manager added.
This year's list not only showcases the progress being made towards gender parity in fintech but also highlights the companies' improved performance across the diversity and inclusion spectrum.
Kriston is also the founder of Spectrumville and has garnered widespread recognition and support from various organizations dedicated to women's empowerment and financial inclusion. Daniela Kriston's tireless efforts have sparked a wave of inspiration, motivating women throughout Latin America to pursue their financial goals with confidence and determination.
"SAK Bank and Spectrumville are instrumental in my mission to empower women and transform the financial landscape of Latin America," Daniela Kriston passionately states. "By providing women with access to education, resources, and a supportive community, we are equipping them with the tools they need to overcome obstacles and reach new heights of financial independence. I firmly believe that empowering women will not only transform their lives but also create a ripple effect of positive change in our societies."
