Centennial, Colorado Mar 28, 2023 (Issuewire.com) - Applications are now being accepted for the Dr. Louis Hampers Scholarship, an award founded by Lou Hampers, a renowned medical professional and educator who devotes his life to enhancing the medical field. Lou Hampers is an esteemed medical professional and educator who made significant contributions to the field of medicine. He received his Bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College in 1987 and later obtained dual degrees, a Medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and a Business Administration degree from the Wharton School. Dr. Hampers completed his residency in Pediatrics at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and completed his sub-specialty training in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago.  Dr. Hampers served as a Medical Officer at the Presbyterian Church of East Africa Chogoria Hospital in 1995 for one year, which was situated in Kenya. Following his sub-specialty training in Chicago, Dr. Hampers joined the faculty at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He became an Associate Professor in 2007 and served in various roles, including Medical Director of the Emergency Department at the Children's Hospital of Colorado and Section Head of the Section of Pediatric Emergency Medicine.
