Matthew Perry's 'Friends' co-star Lisa Kudrow thanks him for 'open heart in a six way relationship'

Lisa Kudrow paid respects to Matthew Perry in a poignant tribute to the late "Friends" star nearly three weeks after he died at his home in Los Angeles.

Lisa Kudrow honored Matthew Perry Wednesday with memories from their time together on "Friends."

"Shot the pilot, Friends Like Us, got picked up then immediately, we were at the NBC Upfronts," she wrote on Instagram. 

Kudrow shared a framed throwback photo with Perry. The young actors smiled in the snap from the '90s when they began working on the beloved sitcom.

"Then… You suggested we play poker AND made it so much fun while we initially bonded. Thank you for that."

"Thank you for making me laugh so hard at something you said, that my muscles ached, and tears poured down my face EVERY DAY. Thank you for your open heart in a six way relationship that required compromise. And a lot of 'talking.'"

She added, "Thank you for showing up at work when you weren’t well and then, being completely brilliant."

Matthew was 24 years old when he began portraying his arguably most famous character, Chandler Bing.

"Friends" was one of the most-watched shows on television during its decade-long run on NBC, and also starred Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer.

Kudrow penned the forward to Perry's 2022 memoir, "Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing," where he detailed his journey with addiction and sobriety.

Perry died Oct. 28 from an apparent drowning at his California home, law enforcement sources previously confirmed to Fox News Digital. He was 54.

His autopsy was completed Oct. 29, and his cause of death was listed as "deferred," pending toxicology results, by the County of Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner.

It is unclear when an official cause of death will be released. Toxicology tests can take up to three to six months to complete, the medical examiner's office told Fox News Digital.

No foul play is suspected, and no illegal drugs were reportedly found at the scene. Perry was laid to rest on Nov. 3 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles.
