Mr. Hainkel's Education and Career Background

Before beginning his finance and tax planning career, Mr. Hainkel developed a sound educational background. In 1978, he obtained a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Houston, a public university in Houston, Texas. Building upon his knowledge, he received a Master of Science in accountancy from the same institution in 1979, focusing on taxation.

Since entering the workforce, Mr. Hainkel has had a successful career in various finance, tax planning and business roles. In 1988, he became a senior tax administrator with Federated Department Stores. He then further honed his expertise in tax planning as a manager of taxation and head of tax at Moorman Manufacturing Corporation.

Mr. Hainkel's Leadership Roles

Many organizations have trusted Mr. Hainkel's leadership skills and financial knowledge. In 1997, he became senior manager in Deloitte's national mergers and acquisitions practice from 1997 to 2001. He subsequently worked as a senior manager in EY's National Office West from 2001 to 2002. From 2002 to 2008, he served as the managing director at JMH Consulting.

Since 2008, Mr. Hainkel has worked for Lions Gate Entertainment as its vice president and senior vice president. He currently occupies the role of executive vice president and chief tax officer. In his duties at Lions Gate, he collaborates closely with various departments, including management, operations, finance, legal and corporate development, helping them to secure strategic tax planning and compliance that aligns with the company's objectives.

Mr. Hainkel's Community Contributions

Beyond his career accomplishments, Mr. Hainkel dedicates himself to making meaningful contributions to his community. His organizational and leadership skills have been utilized in many roles such as the Houston Harris County treasurer of the Red Cross Youth of the American Red Cross in the ninth grade. For his extensive community service, in junior high, Mr. Hainkel received the honor of the American Legion Award.

Mr. Hainkel has also served on the board of the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation Los Angeles, as a director and treasurer of Habitat for Humanity Los Angeles on the board of governors of the City Club Los Angeles, as the treasurer of the Rotary Club of Quincy and as a director and assistant treasurer of the Rotary Club of Los Angeles. He is currently serving as a director of the Rotary Club of Los Angeles and is an elder of Malibu Pacific Church.

Mr. Hainkel's Legacy

For success in his career and other endeavors, Mr. Hainkel credits the guidance of his faith and the unwavering support of his wife and colleagues. He also believes that showing kindness to others and working hard to build teams that find solutions others miss have fueled his accomplishments. As a leader, he strives to prioritize the company's and his team's goals over his own interests, subscribing to a personal belief that an individual can achieve anything they work towards when they don't focus on receiving credit or acclaim.

Mr. Hainkel intends to retire within the next five years. When he does so, he will leave a legacy of an accomplished and storied career that has affected many lives and organizations.
