Winston & Strawn Names 16 New Partners

Winston & Strawn LLP is pleased to announce that 16 of the firm’s lawyers have been elevated to partner.

These accomplished lawyers represent eight practice areas and nine offices globally; 50% are diverse, including 31% women, 19% racial/ethnic minorities, and 13% LGBTQ+. The new partners reflect the broad scope of the firm’s capabilities and the varied clients and high-growth industries we serve.

The following lawyers make up this year’s partnership class:

Sean Anderson (New York) focuses his practice on defending telecommunications, digital media, and technology companies in high stakes intellectual property and commercial disputes. He regularly represents clients in all stages of litigation from pre-dispute investigations to complex discovery practice, critical motions, jury trials and arbitrations, and appeals. Sean also has experience representing content owners in enforcement actions across various jurisdictions.

Adam Dale (New York) focuses his practice on sports, antitrust, and labor law. He regularly counsels and represents athletes, agencies, Players Associations, and other high-profile sports industry clients. He also serves as a strategic advisor on a variety of sports industry topics, including acquisitions and new business lines, employment matters, athlete-agent laws, and name, image, and likeness laws and regulations.

Dan Diamond (Charlotte) represents fund sponsors in connection with forming closed- and open-end, commingled and single-investor, private investment funds, including private credit funds, fund-of-funds, secondary funds, co-investment funds, buyout funds, and real estate funds. He also represents asset managers and other institutional investors in connection with GP stakes, fund investments, secondary transactions, and co-investments.

April Doxey (Chicago) has extensive experience representing financial institutions and borrowers in complex domestic and cross-border financings, including leveraged buyouts, liability management transactions and out-of-court restructurings. April’s experience focuses on broadly syndicated transactions and private credit deals in the middle market.

Anne Gibbons (Los Angeles) focuses her practice on energy project financings, particularly those involving renewable energy sources. She has worked on a number of renewable energy projects involving wind and solar power throughout the country, including complex transactions involving back-leverage financings, tax equity financings, inverted leases, holdco and mezzanine financings, portfolio financings, and bridge financings for the Investment Tax Credit.

Johanna Hudgens (New York) focuses her practice on antitrust and white-collar litigation, government investigations, and compliance program counseling. She has experience representing plaintiffs and defendants in complex and multidistrict litigation involving issues of conspiracy, monopolization, contract disputes, FCPA, corporate and executive liability, and the intersection of antitrust with sports, trade associations, and intellectual property.

Robert Kang (San Francisco) is a seasoned trial lawyer with over a decade of experience counseling clients in connection with high-tech patent disputes. He has extensive experience litigating patent disputes in district courts, the International Trade Commission, and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. Rob also regularly advises clients on patent portfolio management, monetization, acquisition, prosecution, and pre-litigation diligence.

Imad Khan (Houston) is an international disputes lawyer who represents multinational companies, sovereigns, and state-owned entities through all aspects of international dispute resolution. He has experience in investment treaty and international commercial arbitration under all major arbitral rules. He also represents clients in U.S. courts in cross-border litigation and litigation in aid of arbitration.

Eric Knickrehm (Washington, D.C.) focuses his practice on health care mergers and acquisitions as well as regulatory counseling and compliance. Daniel Murow (Chicago) advises and counsels clients in all facets of commercial real estate transactions. He works with real estate investment trusts (REITs), institutional and individual investors, private equity funds, developers, and owners in the acquisition, disposition, development, leasing, and financing of commercial properties across all asset classes.

Saranya Raghavan (Chicago) focuses her trial practice on high-tech patent litigations in district courts and at the ITC. Her electrical and computer engineering background, coupled with her experience as a software developer, aides her representation of clients across a broad spectrum of industries including telecommunications, networking, mobile devices, cloud computing, and medical devices.

Louis Savage (Houston) focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, venture capital, and private investment funds. He has experience with private and public mergers and acquisitions, co-investments, secondary transactions, fund formation and asset management company structures. He represents clients in energy and infrastructure (including renewable and sustainable technologies), high-tech industrials and manufacturing and technology, media, and telecommunications sectors.

Dan Shapiro (New York) represents sponsors, developers, investors, lenders, and underwriters in energy, infrastructure, and transportation transactions, with significant experience in project and acquisition financings and public-private partnerships.

John Sullivan (Dallas) is a trial lawyer with significant courtroom experience in both federal and state courts as well as arbitrations. His practice focuses on complex commercial litigation for corporations and individuals across a wide variety of industries, as well as internal investigations and white-collar criminal defense.

Sara Susnjar (Paris) regularly assists clients with domestic and cross-border regulatory work, whether advisory, implementation, investigation, or dispute, especially in the financial services and banking, manufacturing, and technology, new media, and telecommunications sectors. She has experience in matters involving economic sanctions, anti-money laundering laws and regulations, EU/French regulatory approvals, data protection and privacy, anti-bribery/anti-corruption, and digital assets & blockchain.

Robert Vlasis (Washington, D.C.) represents the world’s most iconic companies in high-stakes patent litigation in all four of the major patent venues. He focuses his practice on Section 337 investigations before the U.S. International Trade Commission, where he has advised clients in dozens of matters. Robert handles all aspects of patent litigation, from pre-suit investigation through discovery, trial, and appeal.
