American Fair Credit Council Relaunches as the American Association for Debt Resolution

Rebranded Organization Focuses on Core Mission of Advocating for Debt Resolution Nationwide

Today, the American Fair Credit Council (AFCC) announced it will become the American Association for Debt Resolution (AADR) beginning August 1. The new name and branding marks a desire by the organization to communicate its mission more clearly with policymakers, regulators, and consumers.

The AADR’s mission is to educate consumers and policymakers about debt resolution and its benefits, hold debt resolution companies to the highest industry standards, and protect and expand access to accredited debt resolution services nationwide.

“Our member companies are focused on providing help to those who are struggling with their unsecured debt,” said AADR CEO Denise Dunckel Morse. “By renaming and rebranding our organization, we are renewing our commitment to transparency with policymakers, consumers, and other stakeholders. With U.S. consumer credit card debt spiraling to $986 billion in the first quarter of 2023, our industry is committed to ensuring all Americans have access to financial debt solutions that work for them.”

The debt resolution industry helps consumers get out of debt faster, for less than they owe, with a monthly payment that they can afford. Debt resolution is a financial option that allows some consumers to reduce their debt quickly, avoid the pitfalls of bankruptcy, and move on with their lives. In total, debt resolution accounts for more than $1 billion in consumer savings annually.

Moving forward, the AADR will work with its member companies as well as those across the consumer financial space to ensure consumers in every state have access to high-quality debt resolution services and to illustrate the vast, impactful, and invaluable benefits that debt resolution has provided to millions of consumers.
