Established in 1999, Bluebird has grown into a dynamic business within the communications industry, serving a diverse range of data-driven entities including enterprises, schools, and hospitals. Originating as a coalition of Missouri and Illinois telephone companies, Bluebird facilitated connections among these entities and broader internet and carrier networks. This foundation was strengthened by the merger of the Missouri Network Alliance, Illinois Network Alliance, and Bluebird Media, enhancing its capability to provide transport services, internet access, and high-speed bandwidth across the Midwest. Currently, Bluebird has more than 11,000 fiber route miles of high-speed broadband solutions, with more than 230 Points of Presence (PoPs) spanning major Midwestern cities.

Over the last quarter-century of continued success furthering the company’s mission of connecting communities and enabling a new era of productivity, Bluebird has reached 125 employees – quadrupling that number in the last twelve years. Since its inception, the company has established and currently manages two strategically located data centers, Bluebird Underground and Bluebird Quad Cities, optimized to meet customers' data management, colocation, and hosting needs.
