Paired Power One of Eight Companies to Receive Award from Governor Gavin Newsom’s Office of Business and Economic Development to Expand Operations in California

Paired Power, a solar and microgrid electric vehicle (EV) charging company, announces that it's one of eight California-based companies to receive the Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz) committee’s tax credit award to expand its business in the state.

“We’re so appreciative and grateful to the GO-Biz committee for recognizing our commitment to add jobs and grow our business in the state that we love,” said Tom McCalmont, Paired Power CEO. “The tax credit will allow us to expand our team, build more solar powered EV chargers, and deliver clean energy to customers in the state and across the country.”

Paired Power’s EV charging products are U.S.-made and designed and built in Campbell, California. With its $3.5 million tax credit award from GO-Biz, the company will expand its operations and support new jobs in both Campbell and the Central Valley – and ultimately help ensure that the state can meet its petroleum reduction target of 50 percent by 2030. According to the EPA’s emission rates calculator, by switching from a standard grid-connected EV charger to a Paired Power solar charger, each EV owner can prevent more than 4,000 pounds of CO2 from being emitted into the air annually.

Paired Power provides energy to leading Fortune 100 corporations, small businesses, wineries, farmers, and cities and counties throughout California. With robust support from California’s leadership, the company plans to continue growing its green footprint across the state — leading to clean energy adoption and sustainable careers for Californians.

Governor Newsom said in his statement about the investment: “California’s economy is the fifth largest in the world and we’re supporting workers and businesses as they reach success. This funding will help businesses create good-paying jobs — from steel manufacturing in Kern County to sustainable lithium production in Imperial Valley — and support the state’s economic dominance for years to come.”
