By: IssueWire

Moscow, Russia Sep 25, 2023 (Issuewire.com) - Sergey Gushchin, born on April 28, 1966, in Voronezh, Russia, is a notable figure in the transportation sector and the Chairman of the Board of the Rail Service holding company. With an education from the State Technical University in Voronezh and RANEPA, Gushchin embarked on his business journey in 1991. Throughout his illustrious career, he founded and led multiple companies like Alfa Service, Transgarant, and played significant roles in renowned establishments like SG-trans, FESCO Transport Group, and the "Transport Directorate of the Olympic Games." He also contributed to the growth and success of several organizations such as Transtelematics and Rail Garant Group. Among his recent endeavors, he's held leadership positions in "Business Russia" and the "Union of Railcar Repair Works." His contributions have been honored with the Medal "Honorary Transport Worker of the CIS."

Segueing from his illustrious background, under Gushchin's leadership, the Rail Service Holding organized their annual business regatta in Turkey. In 2023, after a three-year break, the Rail Service Group rekindled the tradition of the SSW (Spring Sailing Week), which catered to companies from the railway industry and related sectors. This year's competition took place between May 27 and June 3 in Turkey and witnessed the participation of 12 corporate teams, including those from the Rail Service Group, rail operators, wagon repair companies, banks, and more.

The event's debut in 2018 in Croatia saw the participation of 7 teams, a number that has seen a significant increase. This year's participants varied from seasoned yachtsmen to newcomers. Divided into two categories - Bavaria 46 and Hanse 445, the event crowned champions in both segments. SSW, a unique blend of sport and business, provides participants with not just a thrilling experience but also fosters the growth of meaningful business relationships. Such events are considered excellent networking platforms. More importantly, just like in effective business operations, yachting demands impeccable teamwork. These sailing events, while promoting the sport, also function as hubs for business expansion, professional knowledge sharing, reinforcing business connections, and proving to be an effective means of team building.

The spirit of camaraderie was evident when teams showcased unwavering determination, even when confronted with challenges like damaged equipment. Sergey Gushchin's own team emerged victorious in the Bavaria 46 division, marking their maiden win in three years. Other teams that made their mark were the Wagon-Wheeled Workshop team from Stary Oskol and the OWLL trading company team from Dubai.

In the Hanse 445 segment, the Garant Rail Service team came out on top, while the Partners company's team and the Rail Service team clinched the silver and bronze spots respectively.

Reflecting on the event, Gushchin highlighted the importance of unity in sailing, drawing parallels with its significance in business. He is of the belief that yachting showcases commendable human attributes vital in business. The Rail Service aims to sustain and nurture this regatta tradition, aspiring to rope in more members from the railway business sphere.
