Recently, more than 350 prestigious guests including Gauteng’s major Police Service Forces, National and Provincial Government, Religious sector and humanitarians alike, converged at the Castle Kyalami to bestow accolades and awards to the Scientology Volunteer Ministers for their continued humanitarian efforts to uplift society. In attendance was the Gauteng Department of health, Social Development, Agriculture, Tshwane Metro Police Department, Johannesburg Metro Police Department, Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department, South African Council of Graduates, South African Christian Ministers Council and the National Disaster Management Center who all wanted to share their gratitude to the Scientology Volunteer Ministers.

They were recognized by the various police forces, government departments and Religious leaders for bringing help through education, spiritual values, disaster response actions and support, giving hope to the people of South Africa throughout the past four years.

The prestigious event began with the Chairperson for the Scientology Volunteer Minister, Sandile Hlayisi, expressing his gratitude on behalf of the association and giving a warm welcoming speech.

Following the tear jerking welcoming speeches, all the speakers shared words of heartfelt gratitude and admiration for the commitment and humanity of the Scientology Volunteer Ministers.

The National Disaster Management further presented a personalized award to the top producing volunteer who dedicated several thousand hours as a VM since the beginning of the pandemic. The many representatives took to the stage to publicly recognize the Scientology Volunteer Ministers for the massive humanitarian impact made, presenting certificates, plaques and iconic statues.

One of the awardees, an official from the City of Ekurhuleni said “We could not have survived the pandemic without your assistance.”

The Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department was next to present a trophy to the Volunteers for their life saving work.

The Gauteng Department of Health also said, “As the Department of Health, we count on strong partnerships in establishing vitally needed community based, integrated support systems. The Scientology Volunteer Ministers have proven to be an exemplary and highly valued partner in this endeavor.”

This was followed by the HOD of Social Development who presented the volunteers with an award for community development. Following this, an official recognition was presented by the National Disaster Management Center in the Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs.

The Scientology Volunteer Ministers dedicated their resources to the betterment of their communities and during the pandemic they worked for over 800 days of lockdown on the frontlines helping with free decontamination, wellness educations and free skills development to the entire country. To date, they have sanitized over 70,000 buildings across the country, from homeless shelters, clinics, hospitals, orphanages, many of whom are run by the department of Social Development. They have also trained over 23 thousand, providing them with practical tools from L. Ron Hubbard called Tools for life with which they can better change their environment and help others. They are continuing their community service and are now providing effective skills development workshops to help people deal with the losses suffered and rebuild their lives for a better South Africa.
