The Norfolk-based artist continues his celebrated work, despite the temperamental English weather, creating stunning landscape scenes now available from The Gallery in Holt, Norfolk.

Under the Sun is the new collection by internationally-acclaimed artist, Kieron Williamson. The plein-air landscape painter created the series over the last twelve months while battling the temperamental British weather from his idyllic East Anglian location.
“It’s been a challenging year to work. It hasn’t stopped raining in Norfolk since the end of June 2023, meaning I have had to change how I work with far more impetus on seizing the moment,” Kieron explains. “Paintings have been more spur-of-the-moment, capturing the essence of the landscape or subject in real-time, making the Under the Sun collection innately visceral.”
With the Norfolk coast and countryside as his backdrop, Kieron found the past twelve months frustrating and inspiring in equal measure. The unpredictable weather forced him to adapt his approach on many occasions.
“When the sun has been shining, the subjects I have found and painted have been tremendous, meaning it has been a year of great despair and stimulation,” he says. “Despite the conditions, I’ve continued to capture the big skies, open fields, meandering creeks and meadows of my beloved Norfolk countryside throughout the seasons.”
Combined with his sense of artistic freedom, the inclement weather helped Kieron’s art attain new heights. As such, he believes Under the Sun is his best collection to date.
“I am in the fortunate position to be able to paint anything I like, and this freedom of choice enables me to stay inspired, to keep progressing and helps me, I hope, to produce my best work,” he declares. “I hope people will enjoy the works from my exhibition Kieron Williamson - Under the Sun.”
The original paintings from the collection will be available from The Gallery in the Norfolk town of Holt. Most artworks feature interpretations of the Norfolk landscape, though works also depict scenes from the county of Cornwall, animal faces, and people. The latest effort builds on the My Norfolk and Winter Release collections from 2023 and 2022 respectively.
The full collection is viewable on Kieron’s website. Prices range from £3,750 to £26,000 and buyers are encouraged to make purchases sooner rather than later before items go out of stock.
