Urban Renaissance Entertainment Champions Diversity and Inclusion with Release of “Triggered 2.0”

Triggered 2.0 continues with Wolverine's nightmares, a cybernetic villain, and intense battles featuring Blade, Lucas Bishop, and other Marvel favorites.

Urban Renaissance Entertainment is thrilled to announce the release of “Triggered 2.0”, the eagerly awaited sequel to its award-winning Fan Film, “Triggered, a Cinematic Superhero Fan Film.” The second film in the acclaimed trilogy will premiere in a private screening at the LOOK dine-in theater on Sunday, August 18th, for the cast, crew, and press. Following this exclusive event, the film will be submitted to various film festivals. Additionally, “Triggered 1.0” will be available to the public on the company’s website and YouTube channel. Urban Renaissance Entertainment will also offer aspiring filmmakers the chance to develop their own SAG-AFTRA Microbudget Fan-Films in collaboration with the company.

Urban Renaissance Entertainment, founded by Marcus Nel-Jamal Hamm, an award-winning Producer, Actor, and Filmmaker, is a versatile multimedia production company committed to promoting diversity and disability inclusion across its projects. The company provides a wide array of production services, including writing, editing, producing, and marketing to support the creation of diverse and engaging stories.

Recently, Marcus Nel-Jamal Hamm returned to the big screen with the highly anticipated follow-up to his multiple-award-winning short film, “Triggered.” This Cinematic Superhero Fan Film was co-produced and co-starred by the late Steven James Tingus, a lifetime advocate for disability and diversity inclusion. Steven’s participation in the film was his dying wish, allowing him to star as the villain, inspired by his favorite character, Darth Vader.

“Triggered 2.0” resumes the thrilling narrative right where the first film concluded. Wolverine, played by Fernando Marrero, suffers nightmares from his past efforts to save Rogue (Alyssa Lima). He is attacked by his arch-nemesis Lady Deathstrike (Serena Hull) and encounters The Director 2.0 (Joshua Longfellow Wright), a cybernetically enhanced return of Steven’s character, who makes a shocking revelation. Wolverine finds himself in a Jigsaw-inspired dungeon, forced to survive against a blood-thirsty Blade (Marcus Nel-Jamal Hamm). To save Wolverine, Lucas Bishop (Robert Dobson) must escape The Director 2.0's mental control with the help of his holographic sister Shard Bishop (Bridggett Bess). The film features a diverse cast of Marvel characters, including Blade, Wolverine, Deadpool, Lucas and Shard Bishop, Sabretooth, Lady Deathstrike, and Lord Ogun.

Both installments, “Triggered 1.0” and “2.0,” were written by Marcus Nel-Jamal Hamm and directed by Mario Ricardo Rodriguez under the SAG-AFTRA Agreement. Hamm, who has appeared on HBO’s “The Wire” and co-starred in the Josh Gad led comedy series, “Gigi-Almost American,” brings his extensive experience in the industry to this project. He has also co-produced and co-starred in other notable films, such as “Heaven’s Revenge, I Love You to Death”, and the spaghetti western series pilot, “The S.I.N.S.”.

"Fan-Films have grown increasingly popular, being produced more professionally by true fans of the mythology,” says Marcus Nel-Jamal Hamm. “’Triggered 2.0’ intends to continue to raise the bar with a diverse cast and cinema-quality storytelling."
