Paula Walters, a paramedic who once faced severe health challenges following a domestic assault and a brain injury, transformed her life through individualized treatments and home exercises from The Neural Connection, allowing her to reclaim her ability to work 24-hour shifts and advocate for domestic violence survivors.
Paula Walters, a paramedic working 24-hour shifts and training for a half-marathon, was once so unwell that she couldn't drive or work. Her health spiraled after a 2006 domestic assault, leading to multiple diagnoses, including neurocardiogenic syncope, POTS, and fibromyalgia. In 2017, she had her first MRI revealing a brain injury, initially misdiagnosed as MS.
"I was at rock bottom. I thought 'I’m 45 years old, I can’t drive, I can’t work, and they’re telling me I’m gonna be on disability for the rest of my life,'" she recalls.
Seeking answers online, Walters discovered a TBI Facebook group that led her to The Neural Connection. She immediately began treatment with doctors at The Neural Connection. And their validation and customized treatment helped her reclaim her life.
“From the very beginning they listened and reassured me that what I was feeling was correct,” Walters shared.
