The committee aims to address the growing issue of international child abduction, promoting global collaboration among legal experts and jurisdictions to establish effective guidelines.
-- Dr Hassan Elhais, a legal consultant at Awatif Mohammed Shoqi Advocates and Legal Consultants has been elected to co-chair the Relocation of Children Committee of the International Academy of Family Lawyers (IAFL).
International child abduction by one of the parents of a child, due to a family dispute, is a rising concern in today’s world. The Relocation of Children Committee, formed under the IAFL, seeks to address the issue on an international level, bringing together the most experienced lawyers in the field. “Dealing with such abductions requires the assistance of several organizations and law enforcement forces from different jurisdictions to work together. It is an honour to be part of this committee who will be able to issue some important guidelines on the matter”, said Dr. Hassan.
IAFL is a worldwide association of practicing lawyers and family law specialists in their respective countries. The organization is regularly invited by a number of governments to provide training to judicial members, act as Amicus Curiae in court, and support legislators and lawmakers in the area of law reform
