Itronics Announces Rock Kleen Technical, Environmental, Social, and Economic Benefits

Provides a Link to Presentation Detailing Benefits

RENO, NV - (NewMediaWire) - June 20, 2024 - Itronics Inc. (OTC: ITRO), (“Itronics” or the “Company”), the Cleantech “Zero Waste Energy Saving” Technology Company that produces GOLD’n GRO fertilizers and silver, today reported positive technical, environmental, social, and economic benefits that will be generated by its emerging Rock Kleen Mine Tailings Recovery technology (Rock Kleen Technology).

Itronics Rock Kleen Technology specifically increases gold and silver recovery from gold/silver mine tailings by utilizing its proprietary D.E.S. (Deep Eutectic Solvent) leaching chemistry, which was pioneered and developed by Itronics.

Testing on selected tailing materials has shown that recoveries of these residual precious metals can approach or exceed 90 percent. In comparison, conventional cyanide leaching technology may only recover between 20 and 40 percent.  When improved metal recovery and higher values are combined with the ability to clean and sell the mineral components of the gold/silver mine tailings, the recovery economics become very attractive.  The technology is “energy saving” and may qualify for “Greenhouse Gas Credits”, which can generate meaningful payments for qualifying energy saving projects under United Nations mandates.  The potential environmental and social benefits of this technology are summarized in the attached Rock Kleen Presentation.

The price of gold now exceeds $2,000 per troy ounce.  At this price, a gram of gold is worth $64.00.  Because of this, a fractional gram increase in gold recovery per ton of ore could be worth several dollars per ton.  Many gold mines process several thousand tons per day and a small increase in recovery could add thousands of dollars per day in revenue.  Because of this, gold/silver recovery improvements with high and rising gold and silver prices are quite valuable to operating gold mines.

In addition to improved recoveries, the Rock Kleen Technology offers many environmental, social, and economic benefits. Itronics has been reviewing the potential benefits for different stakeholders in gold/silver mining who could become supporting investors to partner in getting this new technology launched. Itronics believes it provides an attractive opportunity to private investors or strategic partners because of the long-term profit potential this technology offers mining companies, their stakeholders, and investors.

“Gold royalty companies have emerged as a capital source for the gold mining sector and appear to have a strong reason to align with Itronics in introducing the Rock Kleen Technology to the industry," said Dr. John Whitney, Itronics President.  “Many gold royalty companies have large portfolios of gold mine royalties.  Royalty companies currently grow by adding more gold royalties to their portfolios.  Rock Kleen Technology offers a new method for growing gold royalties by expanding gold mine revenues and gold mine reserves.”

There are many positive benefits from adopting the technology, but two are very important to the increased revenues the technology generates.  These are potential to (1) significantly increase revenues by increasing recoveries and (2) by increasing revenues through reduction of cut-off grades which increases ore reserves, thereby increasing the mine’s life.  Increased revenue for a longer period is a great benefit for royalty holders, as well as investors.  The presentation we are issuing today explains how this works.  Here are a few highlights:

- 91 percent total recovery on silver mine tailings, versus cyanide recovery at 20 percent

- 448 percent increase in Precious Metal Royalty revenue using Rock Kleen Technology versus cyanide on silver mine tailings

- Rock Kleen Technology gold recovery of 80 percent on gold mine heap leach tailings that grade 0.01 troy ounces of gold per ton.

The positive findings described, plus many others, are presented and explained in the attached Rock Kleen Presentation, which can be viewed by clicking the link below.
