About Dr. Perez-Gurri, Dr. Garcia, and Imagos Institute of Plastic Surgery
Dr. Jose Perez-Gurri, Director and Founder of Imagos Institute of Plastic Surgery, is a fourth-generation physician. He has blazed a trail of success after graduating cum laude from the University of Miami and was in the upper one-third of his class at the University of Miami School of Medicine. He entered a five-year general surgery residency followed by a plastic surgery residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida, under the guidance of world-renowned surgeon Dr. D. Ralph Millard.
Dr. Perez-Gurri has been chosen by his peers as one of the top Miami plastic surgeons. He has had the privilege of serving as an invited expert guest on cosmetic surgery in local, national, and international television programs. Even in his formative years, Dr. Perez-Gurri has always been artistically inclined, and for the past 30 years, he has brought that tailored sense of creativity and skill to his medical practice.
Dr. Onelio Garcia Jr. is a board-certified plastic surgeon who began a private practice in South Florida after extensive training at the University of Florida, University Hospital in Jacksonville. He trained in general surgery followed by a plastic surgery residency under the tutelage of renowned plastic surgeon Dr. Bernard Kaye, a founding member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. Dr. Garcia has earned several prestigious awards, including the “Tiffany Award” and the “Best of the Best” Award from the national plastic surgery societies for the best scientific presentations of the year. Dr. Garcia also lends his knowledge, skill, and talent to serve as Vol. A. Professor in the Division of Plastic Surgery, at the University of Miami, School of Medicine. His peers elected him to serve as president of the Florida Society of Plastic Surgeons and he is currently the Vice President of the national Aesthetic Surgery Education and Research Foundation. Dr. Garcia has authored numerous articles and textbook chapters in the plastic surgery literature. He is frequently invited as faculty to speak at national and international plastic surgery conferences. His textbook on ultrasonic liposuction was published recently. With his impressive educational and professional career, Dr. Garcia feels privileged to bring to his patients the highest level of surgical precision and attention to detail that was distilled upon him during his formative years.
