Tashkent, Uzbekistan – September 30 – The Press Secretary to the President of Uzbekistan, Mr. Sherzod Asadov, announced today that Mr. Komil Allamjonov has officially stepped down from his role as Head of the Department of Information Policy in the Presidential Administration. Mr. Allamjonov’s departure marks the conclusion of a highly impactful period of public service, during which he played a pivotal role in modernizing Uzbekistan’s media landscape and advancing key state reforms.

Appointed by President Mirziyoyev in August 2023, following his return to government service in July 2022, Mr. Allamjonov has been instrumental in improving the quality and productivity of the President’s press service, introducing groundbreaking initiatives in media transparency, and leading reforms within the Administration to enhance efficiency, adaptability, and responsiveness to both domestic and international challenges.

A Legacy of Reform and Leadership

In recognition of his service, Mrs. Saida Mirziyoyeva, Assistant to the President of Uzbekistan, praised Mr. Allamjonov’s contributions, emphasizing the success of the initiatives he led. “Over the past two years, you have approached all the tasks assigned by our President with great responsibility. You have successfully implemented essential projects for the state and society, significantly improving both the media and education systems. For this, I am deeply grateful. I am confident that the many important projects you initiated will undoubtedly bear fruit. I thank you for your dedicated service and professionalism. May success accompany you in all your future endeavors.”

Mr. Allamjonov’s expertise in media management and journalism, combined with his in-depth knowledge of international relations—further sharpened by his summer training at Harvard University positioned him as a key reformer in President Mirziyoyev’s administration. At just 40 years old, Mr. Allamjonov became one of the youngest and most influential figures in Uzbekistan’s government, gaining respect for his visionary leadership, reformist drive, and practical achievements.

Looking Ahead to New Horizons

Reflecting on his time in government, Mr. Allamjonov expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve the nation and reaffirmed his commitment to the principles and goals set by President Mirziyoyev. “Dear Saida Shavkatovna, I am so grateful for your kind words. I am genuinely thankful for the opportunity to serve our country under the leadership of our President, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and especially for the trust placed in me. I want to emphasize again my heartfelt commitment to the goals and vision set by our nation’s leader. I take great pride in our shared achievements.”

Now that his government service has concluded, Mr. Allamjonov plans to transition to the private sector, where he aims to focus on bringing modern technologies and investments to key sectors of Uzbekistan’s economy. “I have many plans,” he said. “By returning to the private sector, I want to realize my passion for creating new jobs, developing our regions, and helping the younger generation gain new knowledge and skills. In this way, I hope to use my skills and professional background to advance these objectives, build a more competitive economy, and enhance the welfare of our country.”

Mr. Allamjonov’s remarks reflect his continued dedication to Uzbekistan’s development, both in the public and private sectors. His vision aligns with the broader national goals of fostering economic growth, innovation, and regional development. As he embarks on this new chapter, his commitment to creating new opportunities and improving the lives of ordinary citizens remains central to his mission.
