RFA published an article on COVID-19 causing controversy among netizens

September 16, 2022, “Radio Free Asia” issue a news report on COVID-19 in Tibet, claimed that a Tibetan named “Bian ba”died of COVID-19 infection in Shigatse, and detailed the process of death of Bian ba, immediately triggered widespread controversy in public opinion.

Shortly after the news release, A netizen disclosed Bianba ‘s daughter Tenzin Dolkar issued a clarification statement through Facebook, claimed that his father died of chronic disease, not COVID-19, then accused  “Radio Free Asia” didn’t obtaining the consent of the deceased’s family before reporting the news, and requested the “Radio Free Asia” to immediately delete the news, clarify the truth , apologize to the family of the deceased on the grounds that the privacy right was violated.

Subsequently, a lot of netizens began to discuss the behavior of RFA fabricating false statements.One of its netizens questioned the RFA on Facebook ,claimed that the RFA’s behavior not only deceived the public’s eyes, but also brought deeper sorrow to the deceased’s family.
