Fridge Announces Special Projects, Music, and More

Tour Esquina de Abuela at Satellite's 9th Miami Edition!

MANHATTAN, N.Y. - Nov. 7, 2022 - PRLog -- Artists, curators and dealers from students to seniors and anywhere in the world are invited to apply, pitch a tent and hang with us, reflecting Founding Director Eric Ginsburg's love of inclusivity, inventiveness and surprises.

In the words of Fridge's co-director and spiritual advisor Linda DiGusta, "Next time something somebody created inspires you, reflect upon all the lives you touch and how to foster them flowing brilliance, shining their light. This is what makes heaven on earth, this is evolution… Fridge's core is artists and curators working outside the mainstream business to maintain their independence and the authenticity of their voice. We think small in the wake of the big fairs because God is in the details."

In honor of the district's name, which means alligator in the Seminole language, our canine mascot is here with Elvis the Alligator from Miami vice. As always dogs are welcome, but please note that all dogs and gators must be leashed! Expect campfire tales, s'mores, and memorable moments. Don't forget the insect repellent!

Our venue, Esquina de Abuela (EDA httpsaw://esquinadeabuela.com/), an urban community center in Allapattah, will feature tours of their collection and exhibitions during Fair hours. The eclectic space, founded by Fabian Martinez, is a neighborhood staple where local and international artists are housed free of charge so they can come together to create, perform, exhibit their work, and give back to the community. Visit us to learn more and support their work!

Other features include installation of work from Ileana Collazo called "Alternate Landscapes" a multimedia project by Kaitlin Martin, Miami's native master of musicBattle Funk, sustainable fashion curated by Fair co-director Ceiba Chavez, and founder Eric Ginsburg's signature animal characters (woof, meow) will camp out in a painting exhibition titled "IN-TENTS-CITY."

As Allapattah blossoms into Miami's latest buzzy art destination, Fridge returns to the district's epicenter to challenge presenters to utilize the venue's unique features. Fair dates are Wednesday, November 30th through Saturday, December 3rd. Press preview November 29, RSVP at vip@fridgeartfair.com. More details will be announced and updated at fridgeartfair.com

The Fair will mainly occupy outdoor and semi-enclosed spaces, and what we really want to see proposals from exhibitors that will utilize tents (byo) or be set up for an outdoor Art Festival akin to New York's famous summer weekend event at Washington Square. All forms.
